Obwohl Halloween in den USA ein sehr beliebter Feiertag ist und Spenser irische Wurzeln hat, feiert er es kaum. In den Romanen gibt es überhaupt nur ein Kapitel in "Playmates" welches während des Gruseltages spielt. 

In diesem Kapitel verkleidet sich Spenser sogar. Zwar geht er nicht von Tür zu Tür und frägt nach Süßem oder Saurem, aber er hat sich extra wegen Halloween eine Darth Vader Maske gebastelt. Wie sie aussah und ob er sie heute noch hat ist nicht bekannt, allerdings darf man davon ausgehen, dass er sie heute noch trägt. 

Während er die Maske trug, bereitete er auch ein Gericht zu, welches ihr weiter unten sehen könnt.

Although in the United States Halloween is a very popular holiday and Spenser is of irish descent, he hardly celebrating it. In the novels there is absolutely only one chapter in "Playmates" which plays during the scary day. 

In this chapter, Spenser even wear a costume. Although he does not go door to door and asks for "Trick or Treat", but he has specially created a Darth Vader mask for Halloween. How the mask looked and whether he wear it today is not known, but it can be assumed that he's still wearing it today. 

While wearing the mask, he prepared a meal, which you can see below.

Zutaten:

Hauptgericht:

1 Truthahn
Tafelbrötchen
1 Glas Tomato-Chutney
Dose Cranberries

ingredients:

Main course:

1 turkey
bread rolls
1 jar of tomato chutney
Can of cranberries

Endivien-Avocado Salat mit Mango's:

Endiviensalat
1 Avocado, in länglichen Scheiben geschnitten
1 frische Mango
halbe Kaffeetasse Olivenöl
halbe Kaffeetasse Zitronensaft
1 Teelöffel Honig

Endive Salad with Avocado Mango's:

Endive salad
1 avocado, cut into slices
1 fresh mango
1/2 cup olive oil
!/2 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey

Zubereitung:

Hauptgericht:

Truthahn in den Ofen schieben.
Das Tomatenchutney in einem kleinen Kochtopf erhitzen.
Den fertigen Truthahn aus dem Ofen holen und in kleine Scheiben schneiden.
Die Tafelbrötchen auf einen Esskorb legen und auf einem Teller den fertigen geschnittenen Truthahn mit dem Chutney und den Cranberries zusammen servieren.

Wichtig: Die Darth Vader Maske beim Essen ablegen!

Salat:

Endiviensalat waschen und in eine Schüssel geben.
Avocado schälen, Kern entfernen und in längliche Streifen schneiden.
Mango schälen und in Würfel schneiden.
Die Mangowürfel und Avocadoscheiben nun zusammen mit dem Endivie in eine Schüssel geben und mit dem Dressing bestehend aus Honig, Olivenöl und Zitronensaft vermischen.

Zu trinken gab es "Cristal Champagne".

Directions:

Main course:

Place the turkey into the oven.
Heat the tomato chutney in a small saucepan.
Get the finished turkey from the oven and slice it.
The bread rolls on a set lunch basket and serve on a plate ready to cut the turkey with chutney and cranberries together.

salad:

Wash the endive salad and place it in a bowl.
Peel the avocado, remove the core and slice up.
Peel the mango and chop it into cubes.
Give the mango, the endive salad and the avocado in a bowl and mix it with the dressing consisting of honey, olive oil and lemon juice.

To drink there was a "Cristal Champagne."
